Job summary

Gallatin River Child Care in Big Sky, Montana is seeking an Onsite Childcare Manager to lead daily operations, ensure a safe, nurturing environment, and uphold developmentally appropriate programming in line with state licensing.

You will supervise staff, coordinate trainings, manage scheduling and staffing ratios, engage with families, report to directors, and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and compliance across the center.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of childcare experience including lead roles.
• Continued education toward a CDA or equivalent.
• Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations for MT and local jurisdictions.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Level 3 on the MT ECP registry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the childcare facility to ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and adherence to staffing ratios.
• Lead staff development, trainings, and performance coaching.
• Ensure compliance with state and local childcare licensing regulations and documentation.
• Engage families and coordinate tours for prospective parents.
• Report to Directors and manage licensing renewals and renewals.

Gallatin River Child Care is currently seeking candidates for a Onsite Childcare Manager.

Position Overview

The Onsite Childcare Manager oversees the daily operations of an organization’s childcare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This role combines leadership, compliance, staff supervision, and family engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a structured daily schedule that supports children’s development
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
• Supervise and support childcare staff and professional development
• Staff Oversite (coordinate staff meetings, on-going training, PR, support staff scheduling)
• Report to Directors
• Manage coverage of staffing ratios
• Ensure compliance with all state and local childcare licensing regulations (annual renewal & upkeep of student documents)
• Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Oversee emergency preparedness plans and drills
• Build strong relationships with families
• Coordinate maintenance repairs
• Conduct tours for prospective parents and families
