Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in Broward County is seeking a Budget Specialist to join the Budget Office on-site in Fort Lauderdale. You will develop budgets, reconcile funds, and monitor programs including Ryan White parts A/B/C and related funding sources.

The position reports to the Budget Director, conducts financial audits, prepares statements, and supports grant applications and MFMP procurements. A Master’s degree and experience managing multiple government grants are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Experience in managing multiple government grants and budgets.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of FP&A principles and grant/funding requirements.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop budgets, reconcile funds, and monitor programs.
  • Conduct financial audits of funds expended and forecast spending.
  • Prepare financial statements for leadership and program supervisors.
  • Assist in grant budget development and ensure grant requirements are met.
  • Oversee MFMP e-procurement and related purchasing activities.
  • Attend trainings and coordinate with budget and program offices.
