Job summary

TEGNA seeks a Broadcast Hub Operator in Charlotte, NC to oversee live operation and monitoring of multiple stations 24x7 from a centralized hub. Role requires hands-on use of broadcast systems and quick response to on-air issues, with a strong focus on quality control and teamwork.

The ideal candidate holds a BA/BS or equivalent experience, understands TV production, and is proficient with Excel and O365. On-site work and flexible hours are mandatory for 24x7 coverage.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of television production, broadcast operations.
• Proficient in Excel and O365.
• Knowledge of broadcast equipment and systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and act quickly to resolve issues.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Charlotte, NC.
• Flexible hours including overnights, weekends, holidays for 24x7 ops.
• 3–5 years in master control or production control room.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manipulate on-air playlists; execute program and commercial changes.
• Ingest and quality control broadcast materials into automation systems.
• Manage commercial integration and breaks during programming.
• Monitor continuity and availability of multiple channel streams.
• Ensure all material is accounted for and ready for on-air playout.
• Serve as first line of contact for internal clients.
