Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Boiler Combustion Technician in Bowie, MD to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial boiler equipment. The role includes supervising level I/II technicians, analyzing trend data, and ensuring safety and compliance across sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required.
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district.
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial boilers and associated equipment including logging operations, adjusting combustion, annual service, rebuilding equipment, cleaning heat exchangers and proper lubrication.
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to boilers, burners, combustion control systems, DA an surge tanks, pumps, valves, and actuators.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks.
• Analyze boiler and combustion trend data to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of equipment and components.
• Lead the rebuild and retrofit of commercial and industrial boiler, burner, and combustion controls systems. Direct technician Levels I and II through hands‑on demonstration of the necessary steps and procedures.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner.
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call. Explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and factory training. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld.
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures.
• Potential travel requirements with some overnight travel.
