Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is hiring a Boiler Combustion Technician in Bowie, MD. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial boiler equipment, with duties expanding based on experience and performance.

This is an onsite position with travel potential. You will work with boilers, burners, and combustion controls, logging operations, and ensure safety policies and proper maintenance procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Technical HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial boilers and associated equipment, including logging operations, adjusting combustion, annual service, rebuilding equipment, cleaning heat exchangers and lubrication.
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to boilers, burners, combustion control systems, DA and surge tanks, pumps, valves, and actuators.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature breakdowns or callbacks.
• Analyze boiler and combustion trend data to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform warranty service by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality."
• Lead rebuilds and retrofits of boiler, burner, and combustion controls; supervise Levels I and II with hands-on demonstrations.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and other reports in a timely manner.
• Interact with customers by providing status reports and translating technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in training through trainers and factory sessions; maintain certifications and develop new skills.
• Ensure cleanliness and adherence to safety policies.
