Job summary

Orion Group is seeking a Scientist II, Biologics CMC Developability for an onsite role in North Chicago, IL. You will evaluate biologics candidates, analyzing stability and manufacturability challenges early in development, collaborating with Discovery, Analytical, and Process R&D teams to inform decisions.

The ideal candidate has a background in biochemistry or related discipline and hands-on experience with protein characterization techniques such as DSF/DSC, HPLC, and other biotech analytical

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related scientific discipline and typically 4 (BS) or 2 (MS) years of relevant experience.
• Experience with formulation, protein stability, or developability assessment of therapeutic biologics is strongly preferred.
• Strong laboratory skills focused on chemical and structural characterization of biologics using multiple analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct characterization studies including conformational stability assessment via DSF/DSC.
• Assess stability under various solution conditions and manufacturing stresses.
• Communicate findings and risks through presentations and reports to cross-functional teams.
• Stay current with scientific literature and support new initiatives.
