Job summary

Acron Aviation in Phoenix,AZ is seeking motivated software engineering interns to join our teams for a May–August onsite internship. You will work with experienced engineers to develop, test, integrate, and support software for aviation products and technologies.

You'll gain experience across the software lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, debugging, verification, and documentation, while contributing to process improvements and internal tools.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, CE, or related field.
• Expected to have completed at least two years of undergraduate study before the internship starts.
• Foundational knowledge of software development concepts, programming, and problem-solving.
• Programming experience in at least one language.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective verbal communication, technical writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based engineering environment.
• Ability to learn new programming languages, tools, and processes.
• Willingness to work full-time onsite for the internship duration at Acron Aviation location.
• US Person status to comply with export control regulations.

Responsibilities

• Work under the guidance of experienced software engineers and team members.
• Interpret, develop, and implement software requirements.
• Support software design, coding, debugging, testing and documentation.
• Develop or update test cases and verification procedures based on requirements.
• Participate in unit, integration, and system-level testing.
• Support pre- and post-integration testing activities.
• Assist with verification and branch coverage analysis.
• Investigate, analyze, and help resolve defect reports.
• Document test results, findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
• Support development and maintenance of internal software tools.
• Use configuration and change management tools according to practices.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Test, Manufacturing, Quality, and other Software teams.
• Participate in reviews and software process improvement activities.
• Contribute to embedded software, application software, test software, or engineering tools development.
• Perform other assignments aligned with academic background and team needs.
