Job summary

Summit TRC in Huntsville, AL seeks an Automated Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated tests for UAS platform software. The role requires building test environments, including virtual machines, and collaborating with software and systems engineers to translate requirements into automated test cases.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 1+ years of experience, and an active security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 1+ years of experience.
• Active security clearance.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Experience writing and utilizing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end automated tests.
• Experience with general software and network troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and command line.
• Knowledge of version control and modern software deployment techniques is a plus.
• Knowledge of virtual machines and hypervisor-based environments is a plus.
• Experience using network traffic analyzers such as Wireshark is a plus.
• Experience organizing test events is a plus.
• Experience creating automated systems is a plus.
• Experience writing technical documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests in scripting languages and/or compiled code to exercise system and subsystem software
• Work with software, network, and systems engineers to translate requirements into repeatable automated test cases
• Build and configure test environments, including automated creation and configuration of virtual machines
• Integrate automated tests into version control and deployment workflows for continuous regression coverage
• Support Test Readiness Reviews and Post Test Reviews
• Troubleshoot installation and operational issues to identify bugs and communicate with development teams
• Track test execution, coverage, and defects using test management software
