Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Associate Metrologist to support calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments in our Richmond, VA facility. The role is fully onsite and requires pass of background checks and ability to work in GMP environments.

You will perform scheduled maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting, ensuring equipment functions meet QA standards and SOPs. The position emphasizes accuracy, reliability, and collaboration with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High/Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate may be required for technical positions.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a related role.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled routine maintenance on active instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform IQ/OQ/PQ calibrations/qualifications on instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform remedial maintenance on active instrumentation and equipment.
• Provide installation oversight of new laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Follow vendor documentation relating to PM, calibration/qualification and repairs.
• Address audits on laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Evaluate lab support records for SOP compliance and accuracy.
