Job summary

Vanir is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to provide on-site leadership for education-sector projects in California. You will assist in keeping the project on budget and schedule, ensure design fit to contract requirements, and may supervise field staff and engineers.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in engineering/construction management/architecture, at least 3 years in a similar role, and CA public-sector project experience, with strong communication skills and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as an Assistant Construction Manager.
• Experience with public-sector construction projects in California.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and construction management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistant construction management services on public-sector construction projects.
• Reviews contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance.
• Assists with oversight of construction progress and safety.
• Prepares daily reports documenting progress, site conditions, and footage.
• Coordinates and monitors activities of contractors, engineers, architects, and related entities.
• Supports project controls, cost, schedule, and performance tracking.
