Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services is seeking a freelance InPerson Interpreter (ASL) to provide on-site interpretation for Deaf/Hard of Hearing patients in medical settings in the St. Petersburg area.

Interpreters collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate clear communication and must maintain professional standards. Qualified candidates will hold national certification (NAD/RID level 4 or higher), understand ADA and HIPAA requirements, and be able to work as independent contractors with

Qualifications

• National certification at or above NAD level 4, RID CSC, CI/CT, CDI, NIC or BEI Advanced.
• Knowledge of NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct and Deaf Culture ethics.
• Familiarity with ADA and other laws for medical interpreting.
• HIPAA Training for Business Associates certificate within last year.
• State license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting service for consumers.
• Be punctual and prepared for shifts with professional appearance.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
• Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedures for medical contexts.
• Respect LEP clients and cultural preferences in medical procedures.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and interpreting aptitude.
