Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking Onsite American Sign Language interpreters to serve the St. Louis metro area. The role requires in-person interpretation with potential for remote support, and a strong dedication to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Candidates should be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED, and have intermediate computer skills. Background checks and a drug test are mandatory, along with documentation of required vaccinations where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Intermediate level computer skills.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to provide vaccination documentation as required by location/policies.
• Successful completion of drug test and background check & security screen.
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive in-person and virtual interpretation (phone and video).
• Follow interpreter protocols and client-specific procedures.
• Uphold information confidentiality and interpreter ethics per Propio L.S. policies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and regulatory standards.
• Establish and maintain quality service and positive interactions with patients, customers, and providers.
• Continuously improve vocabulary and subject-matter knowledge for diverse clients (medical, legal, social services).
