Job summary

One World Global Services is seeking a US-based ASL interpreter for both VRI and onsite work in the United States. The role involves interpreting between American Sign Language and spoken English across various settings, with emphasis on professional conduct and timely completion of assigned duties.

The candidate should have related certification, a good understanding of Deaf culture, and strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• 3 years' interpreter experience preferred but not required
• Interpreter certification
• Understanding of deaf culture and current pedagogical trends
• Proven interpersonal skills when working with deaf and hard of hearing persons
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, email, scheduling and internet
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team

Responsibilities

• Effectively interpret between ASL and spoken English
• Maintain compliance with licensure/certification requirements
• Adhere to NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
• Complete tasks, projects and paperwork promptly within guidelines
• Learn and implement new technologies
