This full-time, onsite role requires independent diagnostic judgment, oversight of laboratory operations, and collaboration with hospital physicians and administration. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifikationen

• Medical degree from an accredited school.
• Board certification in AP/CP.
• Active Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Strong diagnostic expertise in general surgical pathology, cytopathology, and clinical pathology.
• Proficiency in gross specimen examination and dissection.
• Ability to practice independently in a single-pathologist hospital setting.
• Qualifications to serve as Laboratory Medical Director under regulatory requirements.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Eligibility for hospital medical staff appointment and clinical privileges.

Aufgaben

• Provide comprehensive anatomic and clinical pathology services, including general surgical pathology, cytopathology, and intraoperative consultations.
• Independently perform gross examinations and specimen dissections as needed.
• Interpret frozen sections and communicate findings promptly to treating physicians.
• Provide clinical pathology consultation and collaborate with hospital medical staff on diagnostic and patient care matters.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, diagnostic accuracy, and timely reporting of pathology results.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, professional practice, and diagnostic quality.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with other pathologists as appropriate.
• Serve as Laboratory Medical Director, providing medical oversight of laboratory operations and clinical services.
• Ensure compliance with applicable CLIA requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional policies.
• Collaborate with laboratory management to oversee quality assurance, quality control, proficiency testing, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide medical guidance regarding laboratory testing procedures, diagnostic services, and clinical laboratory practices.
• Participate in laboratory and hospital committees, medical staff activities, and regulatory inspections as required.
