Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Chicago's Hyde Park campus is seeking an Anesthesia Technician, Registry for our Anesthesiology department. This 0.2 FTE, 8 hours per week, onsite role supports anesthesia providers and OR teams by preparing, operating, troubleshooting, cleaning, and maintaining anesthesia equipment.

The position covers multiple perioperative areas including main ORs, radiology, PACU, ICU, and Labor and Delivery, with rotating shifts and every fourth weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least two years of anesthesia technician or relevant operating room experience.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification on hire or within the first month.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and monitors.
• Prepare anesthesia equipment and supplies for cases.
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, and airway management.
• Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store reusable anesthesia equipment.
• Restock operating rooms and support spaces.
• Assist with ordering and distribution of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Support anesthesia services across Hyde Park campus.
