Job summary

PAX Technology is seeking an Android Payment Application Developer to design, build, and maintain Android-based payment applications for PAX terminals in our Jacksonville office. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software that processes payments and interfaces with hardware.

You’ll use Java and Kotlin, work with payment libraries, ensure security compliance, and continuously improve performance and user experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on Android development with Java or Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, architecture, and Android Studio.
• Experience with SQLite, RESTful APIs, and app debugging.
• Experience developing payment applications, POS systems preferred.
• Knowledge of EMV and payment industry standards is a plus.
• Understanding of software development best practices including version control, code reviews, and testing.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Mandarin language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain Android apps for payment terminals.
• Implement features using Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and vendor libraries.
• Integrate with payment hardware such as card readers, PIN entry devices, printers, and scanners.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, UX designers, and other developers.
• Troubleshoot defects and implement effective solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for design, implementation and support.
• Ensure applications meet performance, reliability, security, and maintainability requirements.
• Deliver high-quality software on schedule meeting business and technical requirements.
• Build scalable, secure Android payment applications.
• Continuously improve performance, stability, and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to achieve project goals.
• Stay current with Android technologies and payment industry standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and code quality.
