Job summary

VEC is seeking a Survey/3D Laser Scanning Technician in San Francisco to perform and document visual observations, support field teams, and ensure quality control of installations. You will use 360 cameras, 3D laser scanners, RTS, and UAS to capture as-built conditions and update centralized project data.

The role requires 1+ year in construction, willingness to travel for two weeks to 18 months or relocate, and collaboration with project managers, foremen, and engineers to resolve

Qualifications

• Experience: 1+ years in construction.
• Willingness to travel 2 weeks – 18 months or relocate.
• Identify issues and provide constructible solutions.
• Knowledge of Scan Registration software, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Procore.
• Understanding of BIM coordination and multidisciplinary clashes.
• Strong collaboration with contractors and field teams.
• Familiarity with construction terminology and means/methods.
• Extreme ownership for quality and project success.

Responsibilities

• Centralize and organize project data for real-time access.
• Perform unbiased QA observations to identify risks.
• Use 360 camera, 3D laser scanner, RTS, and drones to document progress.
• Produce visuals showing as-built conditions.
• Collaborate with field teams to resolve constructability issues.
• Attend weekly meetings and support problem resolution.
