Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a CAD Drafter in Euclid, OH to create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings for Machine R&D, ensuring accuracy and compliance with drafting standards. You will work on an onsite team of drafters and engineers, supporting new product builds and maintaining design documentation.

The role requires proficiency in 3D CAD (Solid Edge/SolidWorks) and solid drafting skills, with strong math and MS Office basics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or a similar platform.
• Strong 3D modeling and 2D drafting skills.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and tool design practices.
• Intermediate math skills, including trigonometry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings for Machine R&D product designs using CAD software.
• Prepare layouts, details, and technical drawings to engineering specifications in support of new product builds.
• Review engineering drawings for adherence to drafting standards and company practices.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve incomplete or unclear design details.
• Verify the clarity, completeness, and accuracy of new and revised drawings before release.
• Manage and maintain electronic CAD files and drawing revisions using document management and PLM systems.
• Create and update product design specifications and supporting documentation using word processing and spreadsheet tools.
• Produce hardcopy drawings and transfer CAD dimensions to print using plotters and other peripheral equipment.
• Work with fellow drafters and other departments to keep design projects on schedule as priorities shift.
