Job summary

Arion Blue is seeking an Onshore Project Manager to lead the overall management and successful execution of onshore oil & gas projects from initiation through completion in the Houston area.

This role directs project planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, subcontractor performance and coordination of multidisciplinary activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget, while maintaining HSEQ compliance and reporting.

Qualifications

  • BSc, MSc or equivalent in process, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrument engineering required.
  • PMP or MPM Certification preferred.
  • NCEES P.E. License preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the onshore Oil & Gas or Energy industry.
  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience managing multiple individual projects of $1M or greater.
  • Experience managing team of project discipline engineers.
  • Technical knowledge of project scheduling and estimating.
  • General understanding of HSEQ programs and requirements.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project management of assigned onshore project(s).
  • Overall responsibility for project execution, including assigned project resources.
  • Develop and issue project execution plans for every project.
  • Manage overall project schedule and budget including management reporting.
  • Prepare project status reports addressing schedule, budget, staffing, safety, and open issues.
  • Monitor sub-contractor quality, cost and schedule performance.
  • Manage Project Engineers to review project specifications, standards, drawing reviews, and coordination with vendors and clients.
  • Monitor and coordinate engineering site visits, and responses to contractor inquiries.
  • Monitor delivery and review of documents, drawings and submittals.
  • Attend job site meetings with contractors, consultants and clients to review and monitor progress on activities.
  • Initial review of vendor and sub-contractor payment applications, validating project progress against approved schedule of values.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and make recommendations regarding proposed change directives & change orders.
  • Oversee the project HSEQ program and ensure procedures are followed.
  • Perform related duties, as needed.

Job Summary:

The Onshore Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and successful execution of assigned onshore projects from initiation through completion. This role oversees project planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, subcontractor performance, and coordination of multidisciplinary project activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The Onshore Project Manager leads project resources, supports engineering and construction coordination, manages client and vendor interactions, and provides regular project reporting while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSEQ requirements.

  • Experience managing multiple individual projects of $1M or greater.
  • Experience managing team of project discipline engineers.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of project scheduling and estimating.
  • General understanding of HSEQ programs and requirements.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Software:
  • Strong MS Project capabilities and experience.
  • Some software capabilities with Microsoft Visio preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment but may require occasional travel to off-site work locations.
  • Field duties may require outdoor work in a plant or facility.
  • When on field assignment you may be required to work in a plant and/or shop areas around production machinery subject to varying temperatures and noise.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
Physical Requirements (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):
  • Ability to lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including sufficient clarity of speech, hearing, or other communication capabilities.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Sufficient visual acuity or other observational abilities to review documents, perform analysis, and conduct investigations.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to perform routine office tasks such as typing and using standard office equipment.
  • Sufficient mobility to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations as needed.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting operational or field locations, as required by the safety department.
