Job summary

Altrad Sparrows in Baton Rouge is seeking an Onshore Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial machinery across facilities. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, and service systems to keep operations safe and productive.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, OSHA familiarity, and a strong independent work ethic.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and industrial machinery.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems is essential.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and requirements.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial machinery in various settings, including buildings, plants, and manufacturing facilities.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance to ensure machines operate efficiently.
• Inspect equipment and measure components using calipers, micrometers, and related tools.
• Adjust equipment parts and control instruments to meet specifications.
• Operate CMMS to ensure safety and proper documentation.
• Read diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to set work procedures.
• Diagnose and maintain engines, conveyors, electrical systems, and hydraulic equipment.
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, and connect motors and belts to tight tolerances.
• Identify faulty equipment and request replacement parts as needed.
• Collaborate with the facility manager to update processes and systems.
• Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime.
• Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists, and hand tools.
• Maintain inventory of parts and tools and prepare maintenance reports.
