Job summary

UC Berkeley Extension in partnership with the UC Berkeley School of Education offers a Professional Program in Universal Transitional Kindergarten Leadership. Instructors will teach one or more graduate online and/or in-person courses each year that trains TK-12 educators and administrators in implementing California's 21CSLA Initiative for Universal Transitional Kindergarten.

Courses are offered online, with occasional in-person instruction, and may be scheduled for 10 weeks or 10 months.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required at time of application.
• California teaching credential preferred.
• Pre K-12 Educational Leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of California state laws applicable to the course subject.
• Experience creating syllabi, learning objectives, lectures, and assessments.
• Experience teaching online and/or developing academic content for online courses.
• Ability to convey complex ideas and support all students through inclusive pedagogy.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Syllabus development and assignment design for synchronous or in-person courses.
• Plan lessons and prepare materials; update Canvas course site.
• Deliver lectures, presentations, and learning activities.
• Respond to student questions promptly; timely grading and posting of grades.
• Utilize Canvas, Zoom, Google Workspace, and other university tools.
• Follow university policies and program director guidance.
