27J Online Academy is seeking a dedicated, part-time (0.5 FTE) Special Education Teacher to provide virtual specially designed instruction, assessment, and individualized support to students in grades 6–12 with disabilities.

Our ideal candidate will collaborate with families and general education teachers, maintain IEP documentation, and deliver instruction in a hybrid model with both on-campus and remote days. Experience with online platforms and data-informed instruction is valued.

Qualifikationen

• Familiarity with IEP development and annual reviews.
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers.

Aufgaben

• Manage an assigned caseload of students while balancing direct instruction, evaluation timelines, IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation.
• Support transition planning and postsecondary readiness for eligible students, including development of measurable postsecondary goals and coordination of transition-related services.
• Partner with families to help them understand their role in supporting student progress, accessing accommodations, and navigating the online learning environment.
• Teach and reinforce organization, time management, task initiation, and independent learning strategies to help students succeed in virtual coursework.
• Promote access to grade-level curriculum and meaningful participation in the general education setting through collaboration and individualized supports.
• Adjust instructional approaches and service delivery to meet individual student needs while working within the scheduling and instructional structures of an online school.
• Support students in accessing online curriculum, developing independent learning skills, navigating virtual learning platforms, and building the self-advocacy skills needed for success in grades 6–12.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support the implementation of IEP accommodations, modifications, and individualized supports within online courses.
• Maintain accurate and timely special education records, including IEPs, evaluation reports, progress reports, service logs, and required documentation.
