Qualifications

• Completion of an approved professional nursing education program.
• Master of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution is required for teaching in the BSN program.
• Current, active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
• Ohio Residence is required.
• Experience of at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
• Requires successful completion of a background check.
• Personal and educational philosophy compatible with the goals, objectives, and mission of Central Ohio Technical College.
• Ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction in the online setting to students enrolled in the RN- BSN program following the COTC online teaching guidelines.
• Maintains regular, substantive interaction with students through a variety of means.
• Provides student feedback on formative and summative assessments until competency is demonstrated.
• Grading completed within 48 clock hours of student submission.
• Maintains regularly scheduled virtual office hours to meet with students.
• Communicates progress with course lead regarding student progress towards objectives.
• Contributes to nursing program development through input in meetings and projects.
• Submits course materials, textbooks, evaluations, and feedback in a timely manner.
• Stays educated about emerging clinical, organizational, and professional matters.
