Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a qualified Middle School 6th Grade Science Teacher for Dogwood Virtual School (DVS). This remote role requires NC or nearby border-state residency, a state teaching license, and a bachelor’s degree.

You will deliver engaging online content, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and learning coaches to drive student success. The position is full-time, typically 9-5 in a home office, with occasional travel for state testing and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Active state teaching license is required.
• Ability to clear required background check.

Responsibilities

• Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
• Commits to personalizing learning for all students
• Demonstrates belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations
• Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery
• Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from principal and coach
• Maintains grade book ensuring student academic integrity, makes student placement and promotion decisions, and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
• Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests
• Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families and regularly communicates with learning coaches/parents
• Supports learning coaches/parents with curricular issues and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment
• Travels as required (approx. 20% of the time) for professional development and student testing
