Job summary

Alabama Connections Academy seeks certified teachers to manage instructional programs for K-12 students. The role allows work from our Athens office or a home office within Alabama, coordinating with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of the instructional program.

Qualifications

• Must reside within the state of Alabama.
• Appropriately certified to teach in Alabama.
• Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Customer focused approach.
• High degree of flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment.
• Team player track record.
• Willingness to travel on occasion for school-based meetings, trainings, marketing and state testing events.
• Ability to work remotely, if necessary.
• Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the organization and administration of the State Testing.
• Attend professional development trainings related to Title III compliance and instruction.
• Complete grading, create progress reports and conduct parent conferences.
• Support instructional program with asynchronous and synchronous sessions.
• Collaborate with school leadership and teachers to maintain English Learner Advisory Committee.
• Communicate with parents, students, and teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans.
• Keep student records and data up-to-date, including attendance and contacts.
• Attend field trips and community activities for families.
• Develop virtual methods of creating and maintaining a school community.
• Participate in student recruiting sessions and other marketing efforts requiring teacher representation.
• Work with Advisors and counselors to ensure progress and goals are met.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
