Indiana University East challenges students to grow intellectually and personally in a supportive and scholarly environment where faculty teaching skills and participation in the creation and dissemination of new knowledge and artistic work enhance learning opportunities for all.

Job Description

Indiana University East is seeking qualified part-time faculty members to teach in its nationally recognized online math program. Additional responsibilities include teaching-related assessment. This is a remote position and physical presence on campus is not required.

This job posting announces future anticipated teaching opportunities. Applicants should submit a resume, letter of interest (detailing any specific areas of interest in teaching mathematics) and an unofficial copy of their graduate transcript. Applications will be reviewed by the department as the need for instructors arises, and candidates will be notified if they are chosen to interview. Adjunct positions are contracted on a semester-by-semester basis. At this time, the School is specifically interested in deepening the adjunct faculty pool with candidates whose graduate training and teaching experience includes the following disciplines:

  • Intermediate and Advanced Statistics
  • Financial Mathematics
  • Probability Theory
  • Mathematical Models
Responsibilities
  • Teach online courses.
  • Manage the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school and campus academic policies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse populations within the university and community.
  • Hold one hour online office hours per week, per course.
Diversity and Equal Opportunity

Indiana University East values a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and intellectual perspectives among its faculty, staff, and students.
