Job summary

St. Johns University seeks an Instructional Designer to enhance technology-enabled online course delivery. You will advise on innovative learning design, collaborate with subject matter experts, and develop courses across modalities under the Associate Director of Instructional Design.

You will lead faculty development, support LMS use (Canvas), and contribute to ongoing professional development for instructors, in a hybrid Queens campus environment.

Qualifications

• Masters degree and 2a0– years of experience supporting and/or collaborating with faculty in teaching.
• Experience with Canvas LMS and online course design and development.
• Ability to work in a hybrid, university setting on Queens campus and remotely when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional design expertise and consultations to full- and part-time faculty across disciplines and delivery modes.
• Design, develop, and manage faculty development courses and projects for faculty.
• Collaborate with faculty and faculty development professionals to achieve outstanding instructional design outcomes.
• Support distance education initiatives and quality assurance projects as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining knowledge of emerging learning theories and technologies.
