University of Texas Rio Grande Valley invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Spanish Translation and Interpreting in the College of Liberal Arts. The appointment is 1.0 FTE and tenure-track, spanning graduate and undergraduate courses in Spanish/English translation and interpreting, delivered in traditional and online environments.

The candidate will help develop the Translation & Interpreting programs, advise students, and participate in committees while building a research agenda

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Translation and Interpreting (or closely related field) by Aug 31, 2027.
• ABD candidates may be considered, but doctoral degree must be conferred by Aug 31, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach translation and interpreting courses in Spanish/English at undergrad and grad levels (traditional and online).
• Support development of Translation & Interpreting programs.
• Advise students and serve on program/department committees.
• Develop a solid research agenda in Translation Studies.
