Job summary

Commonwealth University’s Department of English seeks qualified candidates for temporary faculty positions (one semester or part-time academic year) as needs arise. Needs may include college composition, developmental writing, linguistics, literature, and professional writing courses.

Duties include teaching online; applicants with a background in those areas should forward those credentials. The pool lasts until 2026; modality and campus location preferences will be considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum MA/MS/MFA in English or a closely related field and recent college teaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Experience with online teaching or online course delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Past experience with online teaching and willingness to teach online.
• Candidates’ modality and location preferences will be taken into account when offering sections.
• Finalists must communicate well and complete an interview process established by the department.
