Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a dedicated teacher for Michigan Online School to serve as the teacher of record across core subjects in a fully online, state-supported program. The role requires delivering live and asynchronous instruction, tracking student progress, and collaborating with administrators to ensure high student achievement and social-emotional growth.

In-person testing and events are required a few times per year.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Michigan residency preferred.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Two years’ teaching experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Outlook).
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes.
• Experience in multicultural settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in all core content areas.
• Deliver highly effective live lessons via web conference.
• Complete course setup in the Learning Management System.
• Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback daily.
• Track and maintain contact with each student and communicate with families.
• Collaborate with Principal to create Progress Reports and adjust instruction based on data.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Attend in-person state testing and student events as required.
