Job summary

Colorado Technical University (CTU) seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver cybersecurity courses and engage non-traditional learners online and on campus. The role emphasizes weekly live chats, timely feedback, and real-world examples drawn from professional experience.

The candidate should hold a Master’s in cybersecurity (or related field with 18 graduate credits in cyber), plus 3+ years of relevant security work and a major certification. FERPA and accessibility policies apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s (or higher) in cybersecurity or related field with 18 grad credits in cyber.
• 3+ years of recent hands-on security experience aligned to NICE work roles.
• At least one major certification (CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CEH, or Security+).
• Proven online-teaching skills with daily LMS check-ins and quick responses.
• Commit to lead one live virtual chat each week and maintain webcam/audio presence.
• Adhere to FERPA, accessibility and academic-integrity policies.
• Inclusive, adult-learning-focused pedagogy for diverse, non-traditional learners.

Responsibilities

• Prepare relevant, insightful instructional materials and utilize CTU course materials.
• Provide instruction in assigned courses, including labs, aligned to curricula and outcomes.
• Engage and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning.
• Relate professional experience to CTU's Professional Learning Model and trends.
• Maintain accessibility and timely responsiveness to students and staff.
• Establish and maintain weekly office hours for questions/support.
• Assess student performance and provide assignment feedback.
• Maintain documentation of student course activities.
• Collaborate with Program Chair and Lead Faculty and CTU teams.
• Refer students to co-curricular resources (advising, tutoring, etc.).
• Participate in academic governance and assessment processes.
• Complete required faculty certification and training.
• Maintain updated licensures, certifications, and immunizations as appropriate.
• Perform other responsibilities per CTU Faculty Handbook.
