Job summary

Language Trainers is seeking an online Mandarin Chinese tutor to work with a beginner student in the United States. Classes are once per week, after 4pm MST on weekdays or any weekend time.

You will deliver engaging lessons remotely using your own computer and a fast broadband connection. Ideal candidates include native Italian speakers or holders of a teaching degree with prior language teaching, translation, or interpretation experience.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching languages online or in person.
• Ability to teach Mandarin Chinese to beginners.
• Comfort with using online teaching software and platforms.

Responsibilities

Job description

Language Trainers is a successful language training company working with freelance teachers of 70 different languages in hundreds of towns and cities across the world. Students are either in-company or self-funded who need to learn a language at their office or their home for work, family or travel reasons. Founded in 2004, the company’s motto is Any Language, Anytime, Anywhere! We might have a job for you as a Mandarin Chinese teacher.

This student wishes to have classes online. Classes should be held once per week, the client is available from Mondays to Fridays after 4pm MST, or at any time at weekends, Colorado, United States time. He wants to start lessons asap. The student's current level of Chinese is Beginner. Motivation to learn Chinese: I am currently an HSK1 learner of Standard Chinese, putonghua, erhua pronunciation. It will take me a long time, but my ultimate goals are to obtain fluency in Standard Chinese, a deep (or as deeply as I can as a Westerner) understanding of Chinese cultures, society, history, philosophy, and art and the ability to understand context and nuance within the language.

Compensation would be USD 15 per hour.

Please note that we would give full training on the use of the software, but you should:
