Job description

Adjunct Faculty

Rasmussen University

This course examines the context of workforce and labor relations management, the collective bargaining process, and labor contracts. Students will learn how to establish a bargaining unit, negotiate and implement a collective bargaining agreement, and participate in the arbitration process.

Reporting Relationships:

Adjunct Faculty will report to an Academic Program Director.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with students regarding feedback on student performance throughout the course and as required by the Faculty Expectations.
  • Be available for students via phone, email, and for individual appointments as needed for questions and academic assistance.
  • Respond to Academic Program Director/University staff regarding performance, student issues/concerns, or items needed for faculty files/accreditation needs in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit appropriate behavior, language, professional communication, demeanor, and dress at all times.
Key Accountabilities:

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities. Adjunct faculty are assigned up to 3 work units per academic quarter.

  • Teaching Effectiveness: Use effective teaching strategies, create high student engagement, and organize classroom activities efficiently.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrate mastery and relate to students; contribute to curriculum development.
  • Student and University Support: Support student success through availability and collaboration with the Academic Program Director.
  • Faculty Meetings and Responsibilities: Attend meetings and committee work as assigned.
  • Professional Development: Complete a minimum of six Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually or two REUs per quarter.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience in the field of study preferred.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Access to a suitable computer and internet connection for online teaching.
Education, Certifications, and Licenses:
  • Masters in Human Resources or MBA with Human Resources Concentration.
  • Ability to provide professional licenses/certifications for specialized fields.
  • Official transcripts from an accredited institution before teaching.
Location:

This position is remote but not available to Colorado residents.

Benefits & Compensation:

Competitive pay, 401(K) with employer match, paid sick leave, continuing education benefits, and more. Compensation is approximately $1,700 per full-term Work Unit, with factors influencing starting pay.
