Job summary

Responsibilities include planning and delivering instruction, developing IEPs, collaborating with staff, and maintaining compliant records and communication with families.

Qualifications

• Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate: Special Education K-12.
• Ability to communicate effectively with personnel, students, and patrons.
• Knowledge of informal and formal assessment procedures and curriculum standards.
• Ability to work effectively with students with autism.
• Ability to develop quality, compliant IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within district resources.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation on request.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and student conduct rules; establishes classroom behavior procedures.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of behavior.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals and communicates objectives to students.
• Employs appropriate instructional methods and materials to meet objectives.
• Strives to implement district educational philosophy and goals.
• Protects students, equipment, and facilities.
• Assesses student progress regularly and provides progress reports.
