Job summary

The Goddard School of Saint Charles - Geneva, IL is seeking dedicated teachers to join our early childhood education team. You will plan, present, and evaluate engaging activities for children in a supportive classroom, while partnering with parents and staff to ensure safety and development.

We value relationships with children, families, and colleagues, and promote from within. A CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education, plus 1–2 years of experience, are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience preferred.
  • Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members.
  • Ability to calmly address stressful situations professionally while multi-tasking to ensure smooth school operations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
  • Meets background check eligibility

Responsibilities

  • The lead teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes.
  • Plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment.
  • Work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.
  • Observe children’s interests and develop creative ideas for an engaging curriculum.
  • Communicate with parents daily, sharing their children’s latest adventures and achievements through a variety of avenues.

Education

Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field
Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
