Job summary

Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional One-to-One to support instructional programs for a student with special needs in general or special education settings.

You will implement instructional plans, monitor academics and behavior, and communicate with school personnel. Requires an Associate's Degree or 48 college credits (Praxis). Experience with children preferred. 201-day schedule, school-based location.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or 48 hours of college credit or Praxis certification required.
• Prior experience working with children preferred.
• Excellent communication and professional demeanor essential.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a mandated reporter to ensure student safety.
• Adapt classroom activities to support IEP goals under supervision.
• Administer tests, homework, or make-up work to support student needs.
• Assist in personal care and safe student transportation as needed.
• Monitor and record behavioral and academic data under teacher guidance.
• Support students individually or in groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and activities.
• Participate in professional development to enhance skills for special populations.
• Maintain confidentiality and collaborate with teachers and staff.
