Job summary

Birch Family Services seeks a part-time classroom aide for the Pelham Bay Early Childhood Center in Bronx, NY to support instruction for students with special needs.

You will assist with daily program planning, materials, and routines under the Teacher's guidance to help children meet IEP goals. CPR/First Aid and CPI training are required; experience with school-age children is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with special needs school-age students preferred.
• Willing to be trained in CPR/First Aid, SCIP, CPI, Choking Prevention.

Responsibilities

• Support teacher in activities and daily program planning.
• Assist in environment organization to meet IEP goals.
• Participate in team meetings and school functions.
• Follow instructions and model interdisciplinary plans.
