Job summary

Springfield School District 186 Early Learning Center in Springfield, Illinois is seeking a Paraprofessional One on One with Student STRIVE A.M. to support classroom activities and student supervision.

Starting date is immediate; hours are 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., 191 days per year including CPI training. Requires educator licensure/teaching credentials or equivalent, high school diploma, and ability to perform all duties with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Educator Licensure with Stipulation or valid Illinois Teaching Licensure or 90-day sub licensure; proof of 60 college hours or pass ParaPro/ACT Work Keys.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform all job-related functions and follow directions.
• Ability to communicate and maintain good working relationships with staff.
• Physical and TB test; CPI course and refresher training.
• Must be 18+ (Pre-K–5th) or 20+ (6th–12th) as age criteria.
• Commitment to assisting students in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with students in the classroom.
• Supervise students in lunchroom, playground, and bus lines.
• Operate copier under teacher supervision to prepare materials.
• Assist with feeding and toileting of students needing total care.
• Assist with lifting/positioning of non-ambulatory students.
• Support students with self‑help skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
