Job summary

Long Mill Elementary in Youngsville, North Carolina seeks an EC-Behavioral Support Assistant to work one-on-one with students needing behavioral and educational support. This full-time role reports to the EC Program Specialist and involves crisis intervention and documentation.

Starting immediately, you will assist in implementing instructional goals, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with teachers to reinforce learning plans, while adhering to school policies and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in education or related human services field preferred and North Carolina Intervention certification.
• Two years of experience working with children preferred.
• Meets No Child Left Behind requirements to be highly qualified.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions, maintain confidentiality and document student progress.

Responsibilities

• Supports one or a few special needs students on a regular basis to reinforce instructional plans.
• Assists with crisis and behavior intervention as needed and reports to the teacher or EC staff.
• Maintains confidentiality and completes necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Participates in team meetings and follows through with intervention plans.
• Supports field trips and ongoing training opportunities.
