Job summary

Vista Real Charter High School in Ventura, CA seeks a Tutor to provide one-on-one and small group academic support. You will assist students in understanding course material and completing assignments, helping engagement and retention across diverse subjects.

Responsibilities include tailoring instruction, using online tools, and coordinating with teachers and families. Schedule is 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of at least two years of college (48 units) or an associate degree or higher.
• Must pass a state/local knowledge assessment (e.g., CBEST) or equivalent.
• Math and Reading teaching techniques knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in all subject areas using online classes, virtual tutoring, one-on-one, and small group sessions.
• Support literacy, technology, and access to online courses.
• Provide basic technical support with online course setup and access.
• Assess concepts from notes/discussions to target instructional needs.
• Maintain professional relationships with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
