Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks an engineering leader for One-Offs AMTS Advanced Aerostructures Engineering in Chula Vista, onsite. You will oversee design, development and delivery of engineered solutions for airline customers, ensuring conformance to engineering standards and customer requirements.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, effective communication with internal and external customers, and the ability to manage projects and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Firm working knowledge of repairs methods.
  • Experience in repair design techniques.
  • Experience in customer interactions / customer service and managing critical situations.
  • Experience in project management.

What You Will Do
  • Manage a team of engineering professionals in One-Offs AMTS Advanced Aerostructures Engineering
  • Oversees design, development, and delivery of engineered solutions for Airline customers to ensure conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and quality standards
  • Ensures that work assigned and completed meets established engineering schedules and business objectives while satisfying customer requirements
  • This job requires both a high level of technical knowledge combined with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a mix of internal and external customers
  • Individual must be able to remain calm in pressure situations and be willing to regularly deal with emotional customers while maintaining a high level of emotional intelligence. Rapid problem resolution and decision making while dealing with ambiguity
  • Monitors customer service performance (health of one-offs, OTD / DTP / Quality) and ensure activities are efficient, consistent, reliable, and high quality
  • Ensure proper day-to-day resource planning
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to staff on the systems, standards and processes put in place to help the team provide solutions, build capabilities, and continues improvement
  • Coordinates and liaises with other groups (RE/SE/DAE/CSM/DER/ASM/PSE) to ensure customer issue resolution
  • Coordinate with global teams
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Firm working knowledge of Repairs methods
  • Experience in Repair Design techniques
  • Experience in customer interactions / customer service, ability to manage critical customer situations and calls Ability to do presentations to management and customers
  • Experience managing projects
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement techniques
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Familiar with Nacelle Structures
  • Knowledge in Fibersim and CATIA, ENOVIA, Visio, Team Center
  • Knowledge in Repair Classification for Nacelle Structures under FAA & EASA
  • Experience in MRO, MRB, Technical writing, Customer interaction, and Airworthiness requirements (EASA, FAA)

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
