Job summary

Duck River Electric is looking for a highly motivated One-Call/Maintenance Technician. This role involves handling maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical distribution lines, and being on-call for service restoration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work, possess a Class A CDL, and be knowledgeable about safety codes and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Trained in first-aid, pole-top/bucket rescue, and CPR.

One-Call/Maintenance Technician T-8: ($37.95 - $50.34) Columbus, NE

  • This position requires a highly motivated individual, capable of working independently of direct supervision. Will be responsible for handling tickets assigned through the Nebraska 811 system that pertain to the District service territory. Underground locates/underground fault location and isolation, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and a variety of other tasks throughout the District’s service territory.
  • This position is based out of the Columbus Headquarters and must reside within the on-call response time area. Required to be in the District's on-call rotation as directed by the District’s Director of Operations. Will assist in restoring electric service while on-call and as needed when not on-call, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have Journey Line Technician status plus 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the construction and maintenance of electrical distribution underground/overhead power lines, sub-transmission lines, installation of meters, transformers, voltage regulators, capacitors, fuses/isolation devices/equipment, and oil circuit reclosers. Must be knowledgeable of underground conductor types, sizes, and ratings. Must be able to troubleshoot, find and correct problems.
  • Must have a sound knowledge of REA construction specifications, National Electric Safety Code, and OSHA rules and regulations. Must have sound knowledge of proper and safe use of tools and equipment used in line construction maintenance, both energized and de-energized. Shall be experienced and trained in first-aid, pole-top/bucket rescue, and CPR. Must possess a Class A commercial driver’s license.
