Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Rockville, MD, is seeking an Oncology Veterinary Assistant to support our oncology team. You will assist technicians and doctors during chemotherapy infusions, prepare materials for administration, and help with patient restraint and care.

The role also involves safely dispensing and reconstituting chemotherapy agents, stocking and cleaning, and preparing IV catheter work. We offer a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to grow through our competency framework and

Qualifications

Assist technicians and doctors monitoring patients receiving chemotherapy infusion.
Set up materials for short and long chemotherapy administration.
Comfortable with restraint during procedures.
Safely dispense, reconstitute and administer SQ/IM chemotherapy agents.
Stocking and cleaning duties.
Wrap and shave for IV catheter placement during chemotherapy infusion.

Responsibilities

Assist technicians and doctors monitoring patients during chemotherapy infusions.
Prepare materials and supplies for chemotherapy administration.
Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
Dispense, reconstitute and administer chemotherapy agents as directed.
Maintain clean, stocked treatment areas and assist with IV catheter prep.
