Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Rockville, MD, is seeking an Oncology Veterinary Assistant to support our oncology team. You will assist technicians and doctors during chemotherapy infusions, prepare materials for administration, and help with patient restraint and care.

The role also involves safely dispensing and reconstituting chemotherapy agents, stocking and cleaning, and preparing IV catheter work. We offer a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to grow through our competency framework and

Qualifications

• Assist technicians and doctors monitoring patients receiving chemotherapy infusion.
• Set up materials for short and long chemotherapy administration.
• Comfortable with restraint during procedures.
• Safely dispense, reconstitute and administer SQ/IM chemotherapy agents.
• Stocking and cleaning duties.
• Wrap and shave for IV catheter placement during chemotherapy infusion.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Dispense, reconstitute and administer chemotherapy agents as directed.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring for an exceptional Oncology Veterinary Assistant!

Pay:

$21.25 - $30.45 / hour

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Schedule:

4x10 hour shifts

Responsibilities of an Oncology Veterinary Assistant:

• Assist the Technicians and Doctors monitoring patient who is receiving a chemotherapy infusion
• Ability to set up appropriate materials for short and long chemotherapy administration
• Comfortable with restraint
• Ability to safely dispense, reconstitute and administered SQ/IM chemotherapy agents
• Stocking and cleaning
• Ability to properly wrap and shave for an IV catheter for chemotherapy infusion
