Job summary

The Lutheran Health Network is seeking a Student Intern who will train as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) and work 1–12 hour shift per week alongside a Registered Nurse until graduation.

Candidates must be in the last year of nursing school and have completed Pharmacology and MS 1. The role emphasizes basic patient care, charting, time management, and effective communication within the care team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in nursing program or in last year of nursing school.
• BCLS within 90 days of hire.
• CNA or CPCT preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care, maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Collects and records patient data, including vital signs and intake/output.
• Supports patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility.
• Communicates patient information to the care team and adheres to safety protocols.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
