This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in Dallas, Tyler, Waco, Plano, and the surrounding area.

The Oncology Sales Specialist will deliver sales performance and promote products within the oncology, hematology, or rare disease portfolio of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Candidates should have a deep commercial insight, be curious, lifelong learners, proactive, and adept at using digital tools to enhance sales opportunities in competitive markets.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally as ONE team, demonstrating influential leadership to build and achieve shared goals.
  • Display self-awareness, a passion for learning, inspire others, challenge the status quo, and embrace change to optimize execution.
  • Confidently deliver messages, handle objections, and close calls with actionable commitments to influence customer behavior.
  • Understand the territory's market landscape, competitors, market segments, product data, and anticipate environmental changes.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to meet goals, improve access, and promote a sophisticated product portfolio.
  • Understand the local healthcare system, EMRs, pathways, and claims processing, and develop account-level plans.
  • Use sales data reporting tools to identify trends and leverage customer insights for growth opportunities.
  • Utilize social media platforms to gather customer insights and enhance tactical execution.
  • Transition effectively between non-digital and digital settings, using non-personal tools for customized customer experiences.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar sales roles within the last 5 years.
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate clinical information, and succeed in a matrix environment, with a proven high-performance track record.
  • Self-starter with analytical skills, ethical leadership, and compliance awareness.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of the territory border; ability to travel 60-80% with a valid driver’s license.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with therapeutic groups, disease states, account management, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of patient services, market access, reimbursement pathways, and medical calling on HCPs.

Leveling Guidelines: The role will be filled at a level commensurate with experience, ranging from Oncology Representative to Senior Oncology Specialist based on years of experience.

Driving is an Essential Function of this Role: A valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required. Accommodations are available for medical restrictions that prevent driving.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary ranges vary by level, with additional benefits such as bonuses, stock units, and comprehensive health and retirement plans. Final compensation depends on various factors including location and experience.
