Job summary
Mercy is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a fast‑paced 36‑bed Orthopedic Unit specializing in spinal surgery patients. You will provide comprehensive nursing care, ensure patient rights and maintain confidentiality, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
The role emphasizes advanced certification, ongoing education, and a personalized orientation to spine postoperative care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
- RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
- ACLS certification and BLS certification (or within 30 days of hire).
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds; prolonged standing and walking required.
- Experience with orthopedic/postoperative spine care preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high‑paced orthopedic unit focused on spinal surgery patients.
- Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best outcomes.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality according to Mercy standards.
- Support ongoing education and adherence to unit policies and Mercy Service Standards.
