Job summary

Heywood Healthcare seeks a registered nurse for per diem day shifts in Massachusetts. You will provide patient care, follow standards, and collaborate with the care team to support patient outcomes.

Compensation ranges from $39.58 to $78.93 per hour; per diem scheduling offers flexibility. Requirements include MA RN license and BLS; ACLS and chemotherapy/biotherapy training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current MA RN License.
• BLS required.
• ACLS preferred.
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Program within 90 days of hire, unless pharmacist/OCN certification (OCN preferred).
• 3 years med/surg experience.
• IVs, port-a-cath, central lines experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses (and reassesses), plans, implements, and evaluates nursing interventions/plans of care/patient goals.
• Provides patient care based on standards of care, standards of practice, protocols, and established policies and procedures.
• Respects each patient as an individual; provides care that fosters the patient’s sense of dignity and positive self-regard.
• Provides patient/family teaching based on identified learning needs, readiness to learn, and barriers to learning.
• Collaboratively plans and prepares patient/family for discharge incorporating support systems/resources as necessary.
• Performs thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of data, interventions and responses.
• Safely administers medications and intravenous therapy per orders and policies.
• Initiates and administers IVs and responsible for venous access devices handling.
