Job summary

Hartford Hospital seeks a registered nurse to join the CB2 medical oncology unit. The role focuses on caring for solid tumor and hematologic cancer patients, leukemia, and hospice/end-of-life care, with a patient-centered approach.

Under supervision of the Nurse Manager, you will apply evidence-based practice to develop care plans, collaborate with a diverse team, and ensure quality outcomes while supporting overflow med-surg needs. An active CT RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• ASN Required (Must obtain a BSN within 6 years of starting in the RN role).
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to the medical oncology population, including solid tumor and hematologic cancers, leukemia and lymphoma, and hospice/end-of-life patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to develop and implement the plan of care.
• Support overflow med-surg patients as needed.
• Adhere to state nurse practice acts and hospital policies.
