Job summary

Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center seeks an Oncology Registered Nurse to provide direct cancer patient care under the MCI Director's supervision. You will use nursing processes to ensure safe treatment, educate patients and families, and coordinate with oncologists and other care team members.

Responsibilities include chart review, data entry for orders/charges, and maintaining high professional standards. Weekend rotations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to safely perform oncology patient care.
• Ensures continuity of care for patients receiving cancer treatments.
• Provides consultation and education to patients, families, and staff.
• Collaborates with the radiation and medical oncologists, referring physicians, and other staff.
• Documents total care provided, reviews and maintains patient charts, and enters orders and charges into the computer system.
• Works up to 40 hours per week with weekend rotations as needed.
• Adheres to department and organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.
